Very nice looking green. Little stressed, but that is to be expected.
Keep us updated on how these guys do. If you get a red, I would love to see pics. I will post some of mine on here too whenever I get mine in.

Oscars and Severums are great tank mates.... Don't know where it came from that they aren't. It does depend on the certain individual but for the most part it works fine

Got my super red! Only about 2" right now. Very colorful and took to the tank immediately. Traded 2 of my turquoise sevs for him.

Congrats patrick! thats awesome...I placed the order for my red at my lfs and it should be in tuesday. Seppi, those are some beasts.. pictures like that made me go with severums in the first place lol

Thank you. The red took to my tank the second I put him in. Comes right to the glass when someone is near. Has only gone into hiding once and that was when I did the water change on the tank for the first time since I got him. But 10 minutes after it was all said and done, he was out front again. He is definitely my new favorite. Even after I get my 8 geo red heads from Jeff Rapps in a few weeks, he will still be my favorite I think.

Definitely send some pics as soon as you get your super red. Any idea what the size range is for your LFS's selection of reds? Greens get a bland reputation because almost all other sevs look just like they do when young. Thankfully greens get better with age.

Thanks. Well they are just getting ordinary reds in I guess but we will see how high quality they are. They said the size will be 2-3 inches for 20 bucks. Fine by me as I only paid 6.50 for the gold and about the same for both greens.. they told me they could also bring in brazillian spotted but they were a little more and I won't have the room as I will have to get rid of one of the greens eventually anyway :/

Regular reds? I wonder if they mean red shoulders (aka rotkeils)? I am not a big fan of the rotkeils personally, but a lot of people are. It really is a matter of preference. Rotkeils stay smaller than other sevs too. Only 8-10" instead of 10-12".

I think they mean the true Heros severus when they say the Brazilian kind. They are mouth brooders and fun to watch when they spawn. The only other thing I could think they might mean are the notatus sevs, which are spotted. Either way, could be worth a look. Green are middle of my favorite colors list. Most people don't like them because they are so easy to find. If you find you like the colors of the spotted more than the green, you can easily house them all for a while in your tank. Might even get a breeding pair.
