New discus set up- rate it up

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You could always do what I have been doing lately, and just tile the bottom. I prefer the look over gravel/sand.

i will take all that into consideration and post new results. I use to have a full tank i did some editing to make room for more orders. My latest order was a 300 dollar discus. Albino Red Golden Diamond from kennysdiscus with a white halo(White trim tips on the fin). it will accentuate my tank very well. ill try that moss but havent seen any LFS sell any to attach to my wood. Background i will be doing blue window tint.

I didnt read the replys except yours... Personally I would get rid of the green hose and paint it the color of the wall (looks like white) or get a clear hose.

2nd, I would add more sand... just enough to fill the bottom and keep the little hill

Other than that it looks great:)

so far so good. spread the sand around a bit but keep the hill in the corner. add more plants too and maybe a small schoal of tetras

i have a school of glo fish that look real good together. i use to have neons but i swapped out for cardinals which to me look alot better and there more definitive blue line really stands out more under the light. also have roseline shark, two small petricolas and a ikola blue frontosa. Once i got my big ARGD and my Bulldog turq the tank should pop more. Also had atlo calvus that looked pretty kewl with the discus but gave them to my bro which his titanium FH killed.

Painting the hose is a good idea didnt think about that. i was jthinking about gettin clear ones with a stainless steel inlets and outlets to match my tanks steel but i wont do that till i figure out if i want a background or not. Little hill is actually 6inches and has a good size flat spot at top of the hill where my one big discus chills at alot.

Looks good, although i would spread the sand out and add some more wood + plants for cover though :)
thanks ill be addin more plants but not too dense since my big albino likes alot of room to swim around in circles. He tends to run into things too. that one plant i just added he wasnt use to it being there and runs into it. As far as cover my fish arnt aggressive and arnt shy either mostly always at the front of the tank asking for food.
