New Discus Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Glad I was able to inspire your build :) That's a nice RO setup, how much does it run? I like that it comes with a booster pump, that's great to have no matter what your pressure is. That's on my list of equipment to buy soon.

It cost me $275.00 AU

Not bad, my 5 stage was $199 USD, and the booster pump will cost me another $140ish. So that's a good deal..

that lloooks great ill be keeping updated

That's a awesome looking tank to start. But as someone mentioned before, low PH is only essential for egg laying. A steady PH is the key to discus keeping. And wheres the heater????

It's not really ph that people get concerned with, even though ph is what everybody talks about. It's GH and TDS. From what I've read, discus eggs won't hatch with GH levels higher than 8, and lot's of people recommend keeping wilds in TDS of 70-100ppm. Ph...don't even need to test for it.

Thanks Bodydub,

The heater is in the sump and the tank is at 29 - 30 degrees at the moment.
