Sure if your planning on breed you just have to sepperate the fry as soon as their free swimming and man that same thing happened here in texas sounds like petco is experimenting with different fish to sell they have four here marked down to 29 from 59

yes but none of the fry would be ebjd. Basically all a ebjd is is a blue gene with a double set of the gene. The fry produced from a normal and electric blue jack would be blue gene jacks so if paired right could produce ebjd's with another blue gene or an ebjd for a greater percentage being produced.
 
Oh ok so I must get a blue gene jack to make EBJD and a normal jack will only produce normal jack dempsey hmmm breeding was just a thought I'm not sure what I am doing yet

dude congrats... beautiful waiting for a 40 gal to cycle so I can get one tried to put on hold but lfs manager rejected...
 
Man that sucks I hope you can still get one they seem pretty rare around my area I'm hoping I can get mine to survive since they are known to die prematurely sometimes. I'm trying to feed mine omega one flakes he is just refusing oh well I will keep trying haha but yeah like I said hope you get one if not I will be trying to breed mine when he is bigger I just need to wait until he/she is mature enough to be sexed then I will get a blue gene jack dempsey and breed to have EBJD's if you still don't have one by then because they seem hard to come by I will give you some but it won't be for a while till I can actually breed him/her
