NEW EBJD!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got two that size recently, one died after about 2 weeks from a bloat/interestinal thing. I expected to possibly lose at least one hence why I got two.

If they stop eating you must act fast. The amount of people I know who have had these and they die from internal problems is horrible.

I also wouldn't worry about the colour now as they change as they grow. Also they could still be settling in which can change their colour from stress.

I wish you the best of luck. If you have the chance to get a UV sterilizer then apparently they help a great deal.

A uv light can kill Things in your water like algea, bacteria, some parasites and other stuff. But the organism needs to come in Good contact with the uv light and not just blow past it. Some UV filters don't do much good. The good ones are not cheap. Keeping up with your water changes can be just as good if not better then a uv filter.

Some ebjd are just weak.

I see, thanks for the info!

Uhh oh, the dark one is not eating and I do see a sign of internal parasite. White stringy poo that have a ball + string + ball etc. The lighter one is eating very happily and very very active. Not shy at all, surprise how it actually comes to the tank for food at 1". Just some update...

I have some excellent quality ebjds that are just about ready to go to new homes, they are $12 each plus shipping if you are interested.

This is true, it can get quite technical but you need to work out flow rate and wattage per gallon etc. It you only have the min power then it will only kill algae.. but it you go more then it keeps nasty things much lower.

..but yeah.. some are just weak and didn;t stand a chance anyway. If you get one over 3" you apparently can relax more.

3" you still have to be carefull they still like to fight for there territory and do sometimes get taken down in the fight where there is a no return point
