Some floating plants and dither fish may help bring them out more.
They look great!

Got some good floating plant suggestions? Am afraid my FX4 might just suck them up. But happy to try anything.

Yeah my “dither fish” are clown loaches which are still pretty big . They are out pacing them in growth so expect them to be a lot larger soon. A few mid level swimmers might not be a bad idea but feel the tank is at max bio load. I plan to get rid of some or all the loaches at some point though, lest they get too big, but not for a while.

Tetras have a pretty low bioload, they are an option and many species are a geographically correct dither. Danios and rainbow fish also work but I’ve found them to get rather aggressive at times.

I’ve actually been looking for floaters that can tolerate higher current. Seems like lots of stem plants work well for that purpose.
In my cichlid tank I use hornwort and it looks great. Bonus is that it gives the water a greenish/yellow tint when the lights are on, which beats the bright blue from before.
Giant duckweed is also good but doesn’t appreciate being submerged (so bad with hob filters), not sure how an fx6 would handle it.

Update on my Rotkeil. I've had him for about 4 months now and at about 6 months old or so his red shoulders are starting to pop out nicely.

I now have to try and manage the aggression in the tank a little bit more since the clown loaches are gone Chewy attacks and nips at Han more than I am comfortable with. Need to add some kind of dithering fish with less bio load than the 7 clown loaches.
