New Fahaka Puffer

Hey MFK, I just have a few questions on my Fahaka. Is it possible to grow him out to 4 inch in a 10 before he goes in my 75? Also, he loves to get stuffed off of blood worms but he hasn't picked at any of the ramshorn snails I added with him.

They’ll see it sooner or later. I’ve done some studies on fahakas but don’t remember any of it but like most fish, 4inches in a 10 gallon could potentially cause growth problems (I think) since they get larger than 4” (much larger) I’d imagine that he’d still be wanting to grow while in the 10 gallon but not have sufficient space, I’d move to a maybe 30 or 40 to let him get a couple more inches before going to the 75

Sounds good, I'll probably look for a temp 30 or 40 gallon tank on offerup then and just resell after he's in my 75. The smallest fish I have in my 75 is a 3 inch Convict lol but I don't want to risk the puffer

I’d say 125 mare minimum but shoot for a 210 to give it lots of swimming space. Idk though just what I think

A 10G is fine till the fish is 4". its proportionately the same as putting a 12" fish in a 5 ft x 30" tank. 125G min and preferably a 180 long term. A 75g will last a while though

I have a 150 I need to reseal in which I'll have him in with 1 or 2 tank mates. I just hope the resealing works

Thanks for the info! I do weekly water changes as well to help keep water parameters from spiking
