just put some methylene blue for itch

That's a little overkill and it'll dye your tank at the same time.. Just salt/raised temp is usually enough to get rid of ich..

I went iodized table salt and 87 degrees to get rid of my ich. I know everyone advises against iodized salt, but lupin assured me it was fine and he was right.

sometimes ich comes from temp changes, like in shipping. it happens more with cooler water. the raised temp and salt is the best advice. ich can not live in warm water. raise the temp between 82 and 85 degrees. i do 85 for at least a couple weeks. if it is still around, then think about meds.

Yep, and keep temp up for 10-14 days after you no longer see ich on the fish. The different life stages will be in the substrate still.

dude, iodized salt is BAD. Only use non iodized. Sea salt, kosher salt, mortons water softner salt from the depot etc... Personally I like quick cure for ich. Using it currently for a fish that has ich. It's malachite green and formalin. Salt works also, but for more advanced cases like that I prefer to medicate. If you catch it early, I treat just like JP said, thats just me though.

keep us updated.. i would just crank the heat and throw some salt

it is healing really fast. No more white spots anywhere around the face or kok. Now I'm just dealing with the back half of the fish. Also, I think it's developed fin rot. It is black on the tips of the long fins, and the back tail is devoloping a layer of black. I'm worried...

here are some bad pics...

just took a closer look when I was taking pics, and theres no more ick/velvet at all! This fish is really fun, he eats from my hand. But only CHINGMIX pellets-no nls, or hai feng, and ONLY bloodworms. I tried giving him dried krill, ate 2 pieces, and left a lot floating.
