I was thinking the same thing, A. citrinellus. Hopefully he keeps the color, I'm not a huge fan of pink/orange or piebald. I guess time will tell. I'll get some more photos up here as soon as I take some, been busy working all day.

If he is already around or over 6" and hasen't started to peal he most likely will, so best of luck.

Honestly I like the coloreds due to the unpredictability of the color morphs. I am hoping the male I have now gets a creamsickle pattern like my old one in my avatar. Creamsickle's are my favorite:headbang2

Finally got more pictures. It turns out, taking pictures of a dark fish in a dark tank is kind of difficult. Anyway, hope you all like. I can't get him to take any pellets, only broken algae wafers. I'm waiting on an order of New Life Spectrum pellets, hopefully he'll decide to eat those. If not I guess I'll try soaking them in some thawing frozen food juices, maybe that will give some incentive. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.

thats a better pic than i can take haha, and he looks great!! looks just like my midas before she/he started getting her red color

Yeah, very cute haha. He's taken to destroying all decor in the tank. First piling around 20lbs of gravel from one side to the other, then dismantling the fake plants in the tank by grabbing one leaf at a time and slamming it into the ground until it tears loose. I'm still trying to think of some tank mates for him too, though I'm skeptical as to whether it would actually work. He's got 9 cory cats in there that I can't catch to save my life(or theirs) and seems to tolerate them most of the time. He studies them pretty hard, but I haven't seen any violence yet.

Since they are the most common, ill say barred midas plus the nose looks alittle long right now!

I've got some new pictures of the Amphilophus. I think it's safe to say that this guy is a barred midas, as I've not seen any orange or pink coloration. I guess I don't notice it as much since I see him every day, but when you compare the new pictures with the ones from a month ago, he has definitely grown a bit.
