NEW FISH COMING - I'M NERVOUS!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for all your help. I think I'll have some happy babies when I finally get them.:)

Altolamprologus Compressiceps and Calvus, and a Synodontis petricola.

Those fish grow really slow but they're awesome looking when fully grown. If you have an eclipse hood and a penquin filter on your tank right now what I would do is transfer the penquin on to the other tank and run it there for a while. That should seed your bio wheel which will help you cylce the tank much faster. Goodluck.

Get some Bio-spira and you should be OK. May get an ammonia spike at first and then a nitirte spike, but should be minimal. Make sure the Bio-spira is fresh and has been kept regrigerated. I have used it twice, and it works. I am currently cycling an Eclipse 12 in my office with Tang. Shell Dwellers with some and all is well. After a week ammnia has spiked at 2 PPM and nitrites at .25.

I think the safest way (the one that I ALWAYS use) is getting seeded material from a different tank and using disposable fish. If I am doing aggressive fish I always use small fish that are easy feeders for them. That way they have a good meal when they get in the tank but then again if they dont eat em its no big deal.
