i know for a fact the jar is picking on the pacu...

It sounds like nothing you are told sinks in. You already knew the problem and solution, but refused to acknowlege it.

i just put a divider in the tank to seperate the pacu and jar. i think i'll get rid of the minnows in the 30 gal and put the pacu in there until all the feeders are gone in the 100gal. i've seen pics of jars with other fishes and they seem to get along. If I leave them seperated for couple of months and then take the divider out, do you think the jar would still attack the pacu?

When a Jardini reaches eight inches their agression skyrockets. The pictures you have seen are of smaller fish.

Your 19 inch fish can not be housed with anything else. It will be total mayhem. It is possible to get lucky and have a placid fish, but yours is proven to not be so. He will not change. Either he will kill or be killed. Either case is not worth it.

Besides, you have the holy grail of arowanas (Asians of course excepted). A pacu is a Walmart monster fish. That is mixing Bel-Aire and a trailer park. There are some things you just don't do :grinno:

Take out the pacu (better yet, nail it to a tree). Decorate your tank with your Jardini as the focus and be happy you have such a nice fish.
