New Fish Product In China

Stormfire, the ecosphere is a completely closed system as well. I am completely against the 2 week danio in a bag however.

Not to offend any asians, but why must they persist to hunt and kill whales of our shores for 'scientific purposes'? Seeing a large pod of whales is a great sight. I do not wnt that gone.
This danio bagging is still a problem. Maybe we should cram some of the inventors of the product into a clear coffin and let them lay in it for 3 weeks.

I was looking in the newspaper yesterday and read a article about some "toy" that was recently put on the market. They were fish in a SEALED bag containing about 1/3 of a gallon of water.

The picture showed some sort of zebra danio in a tiny plastic bag with air and water sealed inside. According to the descriptions, you don't need to feed it, clean it, or do anything with it, and you could carry it around in your pocket. The fish will last about 3 weeks before it dies.

The cost for one is about $2 in USD. What do you think? Cruel or okay?

Just curious more then anything, but compared to chinese currency is the cost for this sealed bag expensive? As in India and a few other countries at least a single Au Dollar can pay for food etc for a full day, and proper cooked food at that. 30 Rupees is considered a large amount by many Indians, is that similar to china? I have no experience with chinese currency, so just thought I'd ask.

Just thinking that if it's the same in China as other countries, then perhaps these bags aren't "cheap" therefore less would sell.

I do agree it's cruel though, but I also think eating animals and their products is cruel for such a highly developed species (I'm vegan) but I won't go into that...


But it is definitely cruel, I hope they either get taken off the market or don't sell well. After all all cultures have a mix of people, so their would be animal rights people in china, and probably fish people as well who would protest against it.

2 bucks is a good deal for a danio...I would buy ten and cut the bags open and let them go in a nice tank.

Cool. I want to get some. This beats shooting a deer and elk and duck and wolf and bear and cougar and bison and rabbit for fun. And cut off their head and mount it next to my fireplace and stare it into its face and think, "Yeah, I killed you, it was fun to shoot you in the ass while your mates ran away, hahahaha"

And I think using a hook to pierce through a fishs jaw or throat and pull it out of the water is fun too. Hmm... I will use a worm to trick them. Lol. So fun.
