agreed about the angled 2x4. remember each 30 gallon weighs like 300 pounds, and i wouldnt trust a 2x4 nailed into a wall to hold that for anything. same with the 40b's. 3 of those per shelf = probably over 1000 pounds per shelf. No way can those be suspended in the air unless you use rebar or something lol. So im guessing youre going to have a table for the 40s, and put the legs of the second levels table on the lower level? thats alottt of weight............. good luck, build it stronger than it needs to be or else you may end up with a bunch of wet smashed glass and dead fish on the floor

I appreciate the concern. The supports will be formidable... :)

subscribed, can't wait to see this monster setup.

for a breeding project i would go with sponge filters,,hydro IV and V's and a large air pump.

Do you think one Hydro V will be sufficient for each tank? There will be one breeding group per tank. A male & 3-4 females. Initially, it will be 8 - 1" juveniles per tank. I am hoping that I end up with the right ratios.

As for the air pump, I am seriously considering a large piston but they seem so expensive & in truth, over sized for 12 tanks. I have researched Jehmco & Ken's Fish for the pump, filters & all the other necessary accessories so far.

I will eventually be running 12 Hyro 5's so I am trying to size the right size pump.

Thank to all for the advice & encouragement BTW...

All of the insulation, wiring, AC, door etc, is completed. Building the support racks for the tanks now...

I will get more pics up soon. Ordered the filters & the air pump today.

The supports for the tank are proving to be more difficult than I had first thought. The geometry is difficult with the lack of space. Nonetheless, I will figure it out..
