The female is still scared of Frankie and darts into the glass. I added a few plants, hoping to block his line of sight.

The plants seem to intensify their colors, and the gravel heavy enough to hold them down.

fingers crossed.

Sidenote:Started to feed New Life spectrum "cichlid". It sinks and the fish seem to like searching for it. Frankie started eating Tetra Krill, normally he spat them out. Also Neothauma snail shell in gravel.

Nothing has changed much with this guy. Tried to pair him with a female redtexas, taitong fader, and a zz females, but he didn't like any of them. I bought a ugly huge Parrot and he can't kill her. Fingerscrossed. So far 2 unsucessfull spawns. Egg ate last batch.

Sidenote: He hasn't grown much. He likes to search out sinking pellets in the gravel. Keeps him busy a while.

Update: I believe this guy to be sterile. Purchased a huge KKP that spawned with him every week and a half. During that time all batches turned white. I had beutifull dreams of tanks filled with fry, but oh well. Gave up and didn't like the eggs rotting in the tank. I believe he is Taitong strain. http://www.flowerhorncraze.com/index.php?showtopic=68654 Is anyone familiar with this strain and fertility issues. Crossbreed to a red texas? He stopped beating up his mate and eating eggs but still nothing. I will try again some other time and give the KKP a chance to rest. I no longer own the fader female. Anyhow the hobby still keeps me wondering, just trying to grow him out now.

The kok coming in a bit more as he grows. It not some of the massive softballs I see atop other flowerhorns, but I still think his proportions are nice. This guy reminds me of my grade school midas.

Took the KKP out and dropped my unfaded red short body texas in(Sublimeaquatics). Probably won't fade in my opinion but a pretty intresting fish, crossing fingers anyhow. This fish grows extremely slow but still got a full sized attitude.

Here's a full shot of the 60 gallon they are in.

BTW: Thanks for the comments earlier, and happy fish keeping.
