New FX5 delivered yesterday and....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Delivered by noon... I wonder what two of these would do for the tank. I am going to have to make a stand behind my tank. It's 6' to the top from the floor and thats too much hose to run.

Here is a pic of the tank the room its in is so small its hard to get a good pic of it. Its a corner tank and I have a ton of room behind it.

I have to sayI enjoyed mine for about the 1st 2 months. After that seems i have micro bubbles i cant get reed of. Then I also have about half the water flow then i started with when i first got it. The only thing i have in it is biomax. not sure what to do to get the flow back.

I would still like to know if anyone has bypassed the pump in these and jusy put one inline. Seems that would be the best thing to do. Maybe I should have bought 2 Ocean clears and set them up inline. :) I am happy so far. My tank was beyond filthy! I couldn't even see in it after a 60% water change. 60% and it's 220g. We left to go eat dinner I came back and it was almost clean. I need to go get media I have nothing in it now. I really thought it would have shipped with media. I should have read the details so I could have ordered it too. We will see how it works out.

The FX5 is so powerful that I use it to draw water out of my sump directly next to it, and return it 5' up and over the back into the main tank. Only downfall with the way I am using mine is I have to prime the intake using a Gravel vac because it can't start the process. But once it's running, it's golden.

Edit: Also, I'm using Seachem Pond Matrix in all trays and the Foams it comes with.
