New Garage, New Fishroom, New copper pipes???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
carbon black filters are cheap... you asked how to avoid the problem thats how... just flow your water through a carbon block and your problem is solved....

I have been keeping fish for years and the water has always came out of copper pipes and have never had a single problem with the water quality.

:) to the OP smile man and thank god you don't have galvanized plumbing (Not that its toxic but its not nearly as good as copper) . Your fish will be fine I will put my reputation on it :headbang2

old copper is a little different than new.... oddball put up a thread on it before.... or a post...

All of my lines are made of copper.

I have never had a problem.

Flush the lines for a couple of minutes. I have had problems from copper pipes, but flushing the pipes for a couple of minutes seems to do the trick. Get a copper test if you're really worried, they're available. Or at least they were, I haven't tested for copper for a few years.

Thanks, found it. I'll play it safe and get a long hose so I can fill the tank from the old piping in the house. And maybe even chuck some carbon in the loaches tank to be extra safe...
