New gars need help with alternative food

I just got a couple 5" gars and 4 3" temensis pbass... What can I feed them other than live fish? The damn bass eat the fish up so bloody fast, the poor gars don't even have a chance!!

Those gar and bass might be a bit small to try forcing them off live fish, but try cut raw fish, market shrimp, or f/d krill...the gar may be quicker to take the non-live food, and that will give them a leg up on the food. Good luck...gar and pbass together can be problematic and aggressive feeding by the bass is often the issue.
 
just give them more live feeders.
muah ha ha ha ha ha ( i just like giving my gars different live foods)
also the laughter is for the new avatar( poor gar is struggling, fish is backward)
 
thats what i would do....
others might say other wise but that is what i would do
 
It was wicked to see them eat... And there are still enough guppies in there to keep everyone feed for a week.

what type of gar?

I got them from TFD and they were labeled Marble Line gar... I am new to keeping this type of fish so I'm not sure what the difference between gars is. I am mostly a Lake Tanganyika kind of guy, but the gars and bass are cool!!!

I will snap some photos when my batteries charge.

marble line gar does not exist
usually these are false gar or fl/spot gar (i hope for the latter of the 2)
