my gueen gold nugget is missing! :WHOA:

came home from a trip on monday and have not seen it yet, will tear up tank tommorow and do a water change while looking for "goldie", but i think he became a meal for one of my bichirs just don't know which one. well that's the law of nature but i sure do miss him, but just means i can go find another one if he 's not there. will update holla back. :swear:
when was looking through the thread, and saw the picture of the GN's and bichir, was just about to post that may not be a good idea, cause judging on sizes etc, they could be a meal, but i might be too late in giving this info. you find it yet?

Just a word. It is in general a bad idea to keep plecs and bichirs together. If the plecs are too small they may end up meals, but when the plecos get to big they can start turning the tables. I had a problem with my Ornatipinnis getting sucked on by numerous plecos. He just was not fast enough to evade some of my larger plecs. In general I tend to stay away from mixing the two.
:iagree: you can never win!

no show, did water change and checked all of his favorite hideouts and no luck. my blue phantom is going strong and growing well so i guess i'm back on the hunt for another pleco. seems like i do addition by death because once a fish gets eatin or dies i always find another one to take it's spot in the tank.

In consideration to the sizes of your polypterus, I would recommend a pleco no smaller than 3", and that is pushing it. As I said before, not the best idea to keep the two species together, most times it will end in one or the other dying.

That is a good price for a GN, dependent on the size, and type, as there are quite a few different GN types out there.

all listed here. i'd personally go with something a little bigger than 3", especially if the type of pleco you decide on only ends up growing to 4". but a 3" might work, i just wouldnt want to risk it with a bichir
