perfect size to pellot train where did you order him from?

I will certainly be getting on that bandwagon once he starts eating feeders well.
I'm setting up a 10g for him as we speak, I'll throw a cycled filter in there and let it go for the weekend while im gone. Man I hate to leave new fish over a weekend...

More pics now that the Grassy is settled in a bit more

Nice fish. I originally wanted Pickerel in my tank but couldn't resist the gars. :D

since i own both i can comment....
gar are the better fish as far as personality, and movement
BUT pickerel have the "badass factor" ...

it just depends what you want ....

but if i were gator, i would have taken that HUGE tank you have and used it for PIKE or MUSKEY (or chain pickerel)!!! and then you could still do some large gars!!!

A musky in a gigantic tank would be amazing. One day when I'm rich and famous Im going to have a 50k gallon tank like arapaimag, maybe I'll have two 25k gallon tanks... one on each end of the house, one SA/CA and one Native. I'll have musky walleye catfish perch and all kinds of cool stuff in it haha.

For now I'll handle my 75g and 300g with all the lil growouts :D

like someone said already, good time to start training on pellets, but also remember to give him at least one guppy every 2 or 3 days

I kept a redfin for a couple of years. It was a cool fish and grew pretty quickly. I could never get mine pellet trained.

Moontaman, let me know if you can get some redfins. I love those guys!

LOL Chain Pickerel maybe but my tanks way to small for Pike or Muskey.

600 could hold one for a long time! its not like they are going to go around swimming laps ;)
