Its all about the GT, my experainace with my to green terrors, they are getting along with my oscar and my balas, but the convict have a problem with them, but there there in a 125 so there pretty fine for now

id skip on the RD...and are you growing him out for the tank in your signature? or is the 75 gallon for life?

No, Even in a 75, a RD would probably want to kill the GT.

And there was no inclination that the original poster knew the requirements of the fish, was I just supposed to guess? Yes, a 20 IS okay for a juvenile GT, I was just making sure you knew it wouldn't do as a permanent home.

I would avoid tankmates untill you get the 75.

If I thought the GT wouldent kill my CK when it gets Monster, I would put it in that tank. Would the CK be able to hold his own, and the GT also?

I apoligise for my earlier tyrade. Your concern was for the fish, and I should have realized that.

Unless you can get him at least a 55 gallon for himself, return him. They get 10-11"+

No tankmates for him in a 20, because he cant stay in a 20. I reckon he should be okay for a month or two in there, but after that he might start to be stunted.

Always do research before you purchase a fish. If you hadnt posted here to "share your joy" than you would have a stunted, sick cichlid.

Oh and BTW even in a 55, tankmates will be limited, after 6" they can get very agressive.

Thanks for the replys everybody, very helpful.
would it work if I got some FAST fish as tankmates? like balas or tinfoil barbs? that is after I get the 75 gal. something that gets kinda big but the GT cant catch.
