NEW guy. Check out my Aquariums!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I read a lot about the puffers needing the brackish waters.. But i probably read just as many that disagreed with it saying it would be better, but definitely not necessary. The same goes for my freshwater lionfish.. I've been thinking about doing some rearranging and going to brackish water to promote health anyways, what other interesting fish belong to brackish water

thanks for the link!!

I'm pretty sure your not suppost to have BGK and elephant noses in the same tank because of the whole electrical current thing

My local petstores/internet say that it makes them good tank mates for each other..
If they're not they're an oddball couple because they seem to be best friends lol

Alright, but I've read that the electrical currents end up getting mixed together and confuse at least one of the fish and they end up starving because they can't find food

Thanks everybody for their input!!
On the filtration aspect of the tank, I know I might not "need" more filtration but I know that i definitely WANT more filtration :) I have to much time on my hands anyways.
I'm thinking about moving my tank to the kitchen where there is hard floors, and i have a cold/hot water hookup with drainage that I know I want to incorporate but I just don't know how yet so if you guys have any links that could help me there? I'd appreciate it :)
ps.. my red devil (diablo) absolutely loves the frosted flakes! jk ;)

Welcome to MFK. You couldn't have found a better place to land!!! You'll definitely need more filtration. Maybe not right away, but, this is all good. You've got time to research the options available to you and determine what would be best for your stock and not require heroics on your behalf to properly maintain.

Start your research right away. The time for more filtration will arrive before you know it!!!

I have a big feeling that puffer is going to get a lot more aggressive as it matures, wrecking havoc onto fish like the BGK, lionfish & anything else that is sedentary.
