Well thats not going to really help at all doing it that way your not taking anything out your just adding to it and diluting it a little.
Who are you talking to,and what is this supposed to mean? :screwy:

I think this is the best advice, even if the Aro survives the harsh conditions, which I doubt it will, it will likely end up on the floor flopping around, like a fish out of water.....

This tank is far too small for that fish, there's no other way to say it.

you need to get that 200 quick before the aro goes crazy and jumps...

I was talking to the OP when they said they filled the tank with about 2.5 gallons and was adding bottled water daily to fill it ther rest of the way and to dilute the ammonia. Instead of filling it all the way then just doing watewr changes. Sorry I should have made it more clear who I was talking to because it did look like I was talking to you but I wasn't.

thanks guys, for the input.
the tank is now clearer, with ph at a acceptable level and non toxic to the aro.

as for the 200 GAL tank; like i mentioned, i will get it, but i will not return the fish simply because. im much smarter now of this approach - cycling first...but just simply returning the fish, buying a 200 GAL and then add the fish to it?, seem's unrealistic.

example:

leeishom - hey, uhhh...im buying a 200 GAL very soon, can you help me to store this aro until i properly set it up?, please?

fish store owner - well, lets see....i have 200 + fishes to look after, that must be taken care of, due to help run my business and feed my family.

--------------

unrealistic?, yes...

We meant take it back like take it to the store and get your money back. Also a ten gallon filter on a 200 gallon tanks not gonna cut it. So when you get the 200 you will need to cycle the new filters you get for that. You can either add the 10 gallon filter or the media but your still probably gonna go through at least a many cycle.

im not even gonna reread what has been said about this matter.
i mean, we all arent here to preach nor dictate, but like i mentioned on this matter more than once.

yes, a 200 GAL will not supply a normal comfortable level of 'home' water to this aro, and yes a 10 GAL filter will not be even remotely be a strong part of a new cycle process....

and yea, probably my aro wont even make it, even if i get the 200 GAL tomorrow.

BUT

my topic still stands, very strong...

WHY IS MY TANK CLOUDY?

you see?, thats whats wrong with asking a simple question on forums; never getting a solution that fits the question.

If you are going to do this in a 10 gallon with these fish, not a good idea IMO, do 90% water changes daily,or get some used media from an established tank.
Doing less than 90% water changes won't allow enough clean water in to dilute the ammonia and nitrite IMO.Your only working with 10 gallons, not much water at all.

doing a 90% change would most def kill my aro.
when i do introduce this young aro to a 200 GAL, 10 GAL would approx. take up 3" of space height wise, thus obviously adding new water is a must, but to a point where 10" is 20% of new water added. so, ok 20%X10=200.
aro is 4" currently, where a typical aro needs 10 GAL every 3" or a typical 1" fish needs a GAL to survive.
