Sounds like a plan... can you fill this up outside just to make sure there are no other surprizes lurking?

It might work, it might not... but one thing I would defintiely do is test it outside!! Otherwise you might have a resorvoir in your house, which might be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it :cool-1:

How about using a windshield repair kit to fix the crack, then take a piece of glass that is 2-3in larger than the area covered by the crack and seal it to the tank glass over the cracked area with silicone from the inside and clamp it lightly till silicone is cured.

Make sense? :D

Your not on the wind screen thing again:D

I have repaired a crack in a similar way by smidgen it between 2 bits of glass but this was on the side of a 4 foot and cosmetics did not come into the equation.

your repair could hold for 2days or 2years who knows. but if u think its all good and put it in your house one day i bet you have a very large mess to clean up!

I think it would work, being that the top and bottom frame is the actual support for the tank not the glass.

???

How about going out and rescueing a digital camera from a life of bordem and unholy entrapment in a display case and send us a pic. If you go to prison, I promise to send you a cake with a file in it (do you use a PC or Mac  ).

But otherwise, from what you told us, I think it should hold, no problem...Trust Me :D

Thats the scariest(top to bottom) way for a crack to be.The repair has a good chance of working out because of the large area for the silicone to bond to.Good luck
