New-ish Tiger Scats..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So ive had my scats for a lil while now and theyre doin well but the biggest one had become quite a bully so last night i moved it into another tank and to my surprise my angelfish does not like him so now he is running from her lol ..

is it nipping or just chasing or both? who's it bullying, the other fish or the other scats or both?

i have a green that likes to threaten and challenge my other fish (kinda like a cichlid) but doesn't bite or chase.

There are 10 giant danios and 2 roseline sharks in that tank along with the scats. It was only chasing the other scats, never showed any interest in the other fish. There was def. nipping goin on too. The other scats have alot of fin/tail damage and it looks like maybe alittle on their sides. I added alot of plants hoping to break some of it up but the bigger scat was just non-stop goin after the others. Its now in a tank w/ an angelfish, 3 silver dollars, a ray and an archer (which it likes to hang around) and its not going after any of them.

bummer, that's pretty interesting though. maybe they have a pecking order like wolves or something, alpha male? i'm curious to see if another scat takes it's place. keep us updated please.

Well so far the bully is doing well in the other tank although the angelfish still doesnt like him lol..He may have nipped at the archer a bit but its hard to tell really. It does look like the biggest of the 3 scats in the other tank has taken over as the 'leader' i guess. There is some chasing going on but fins/tails look to be getting better not worse so i think alot of the nipping has stopped. Im trying to find a bigger tank at the moment so eventually i will try to combine them all again and see what happens with a different set up.
IMO these guys are way better than a dat. I had one for a little while and all it did was hide and i never saw it. My scats are always right at the side of the tank (waiting for food im sure) and swimming around my hand when i clean. They have been way more fun to watch and it doesnt hurt that theyre kind of adorable =)
