I just called shark aquarium. They have 5" silvers for $50...Thats a bit much for a silver I think?? Im looking for 2-3"ers for less than $20. I know other places that sell them for $12-$15 when they have them. Thats the price Im lookin for.

Anyone know of a place in NJ or in the Allentown, PA area?

Being cheap is not the way to go with arowana IMO. I'd look at aquabid. I've seen some pretty good deals for 5-6"ers (about 20$ each+shipping) and they're a whole lot less fragile than 3" aros which often suffer from "sudden death syndrome." No matter, just about every pet store carries silvers and I'd be surprised if you couldn't find one.

Still need a few more powerheads. Broken is okay if it's fixable.

U would pay $50 for a 5" silver?? I know of other qualified fish stores that sell them for less than 1/2 of that when they have them in stock.

Believe it or not it has been a little difficult for me to find a silver at local fish stores recently. Pet Shanty in Scotch Plains, NJ actually told me that silvers were out of season...:screwy:
And they are usually pretty knowledgable about fish. But I knew that wasn't true. But every other pet store that I have called in the central/norhern NJ area said that they didn't have any in stock, and didn't know if they could get any.
I found 1 store in Allentown, PA that can get blue, black, and silvers so I placed my order with him, and they should be coming in sometime next week.

I was just seeing if I could find 1 or 2 around the NJ/PA area now.
I guess Im being impatient.:nilly:
I prefer not to have fish shipped to me unless I have to. I like to see exactly what Im buying b4 I pay.

yes absolutely fish is very pricy

and where is petgoods?

Pet Goods is in Paramus on rt. 17 going south. it's right next to home goods. They have an amazing selection of everything and if they dont have it, they can get it to you within a week. ask for Joe.

I'd pay no more than 30$ for a 5" silver, but I tend to by everything off the net. I believe that winter is "arowana season", so yes it's not the best time to buy them. I understand what you mean with the shipping thing.

i am looking for a 90 or 120g tank + stand + hood in northern nj

I know of an AGA 120g with overflows/sump/stand/glass tops/plumbing in NNJ. I think he was looking for $450 minus the pump. If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you the guy's number.
