new life spectrum vs hikari

hey all,

just wanted to see other peoples opinions re pellets.

i have a jardini / 2 mono pbass..

i'm also starting to train the jar off beef heart/mealworms into pellets

maybe im impatient - but the jar eats a couple of pellets then seems to notice they are pellets then stops eating them..

everyone i speak to keeps mentioning hikari food stix / massivore pellets..

however i've only been able to get a hold of new life spectrum (4.5mm jumbo fish formula)

is hikari really better then new life spectrum? if so why? this has probably been discussed before, just find it hard to find hikari stock in syd, australia but i'm sure if i try harder i can find it, but will it be worth the effort?

I've never personally used NLS foods, but I do use Hikari foodsticks for my arowanas, and I have to say that it is a great food, the fish love it and they get excellent colour development from it. If you want, I can PM you the name of somes stores in Sydney that carry Hikari at good prices.

i'll take NLS any day of the weeks over hikari for my african cichlids

I've used both for extended periods... I prefer the results of NLS better... the fish seem to like both equally...

ive never tried NLS but i know that the Hikara i have used is great. I prefer it because the fish love it, i know its good for them (all nutrient listed right on the back of the package) and it makes all the fish healthy!

I've used Hikari for years. When I joined this forum everyone in the african thread said they used NLS, so I decide to give it a try. In as little as 2 weeks I have noticed a big difference in the color of my fish. They are more active and there is never any wasted pellets. They love the stuff. I will no longer use Hikari after seeing the results I have achieved from NLS.

Azoo Arowana Pellets! I haven't use NLS yet but alot of people say it's good. Just give them what you have.
