New light bulb..

light didn't make much of a difference - that's still a nice a** set up though.

A red pink light would work great with a blue bulb. That's what I have set up using standard 48" fluorescent bulbs. The red/pink bulbs really brings out the color in fish, while the blue bulbs brings out the blue in fish. I don't use any white bulbs.
BTW, what is that type (brand) of black sand in your tank? its very nice.
 
I could be wrong and misinformed but I was told by one of my fish guys that putting an atinic bulb in a freshwater tank would cause a bad algae bloom (He said it happened to him when he tried it). I have one of the pink lights in my tank and one regular daylight type bulb. I changed out and put to regulars (i think 6500k) in to see the difference and the pink bulb does bring out a lot of color.

Sweet! looks like i'll be picking up one or two new bulbs this weekend then.

man! i knew i shouldda just went with my instincts!! :( I was about to get red too and the worker was like i think blue would be better.
