New Marble pair

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its sometimes hard to tell from a picture but my honest opinion is that the female is an average nice marble and the male is very nice. We may need a few more pics to do them justice. Nothing to be ashamed of thats for sure.

While they are nice Al and knowing the cost, I would have to say not worth the $$s you paid. Especially considering what you were expecting. JMHO

Does that mean this is supposed to be the pair shawn posted in the stingray media forum a couple months ago?

Have been for years. :( Problem is they are allergic to the water here in Iowa and don't seem to want to breed. They will eventually. No doubt there, but it way take a while to figure out exactly what the root cause is. First step - Put a well well established proven breeding group in my water. They've been here a little while now. I have to wait and see if they start back up. Then I know if I have to intervene as far as the water and how crappy it is.

Just to clarify on these Marbles.....

They've only been with me a few days. Wasn't sure what was going to go on with them right away after they arrived, so they've been up at Shawn's. After a while I thought there's no sense in them taking up tank space and being fed without me paying thier rent so I grabbed them and been trying to get them established enough for life with a group.

The funny thing is I offered these to a few people and nobody was intrested, as it seems they are just average. Even now there's mention of the average female. I've been knee deep in Marbles for years and IF this is average, apparently my collection has never really been above average :( That is one of the nicer females I have here. Easy top 4. Most of mine go to crap by a foot. This girl's probobly 13-14" I might have to reconsider that long overdue Marble update till expectations come down a bit (Thanks to Richard) :)

No, I did not get the ones I paid for. I actually was sent a different male which passed right away. Shawn replaced the male with one I had been eyeballing previously from his stock. This pair was a little more then half the price of the other pair. Still working out details as far as credit/refund but that's between us. It's not the first time there's been issues and I'm sure won't be the last, but I'm trusting that things will work out, as they always have in the past. Just gotta keep the faith and patience and hope it pans out.

I feel for you alan....i hope it all works out.

DB don't worry what others think of your rays. As long as you like them and are content with your transaction than all is good. Everyone has different tastes and its really just a matter of opinion.

Definetly doesn't bother me what others think. That's why I quit posting pics so much.... lol Not sure if this is the right choice though, cause I know if everyone else did the same then we'd have nothing to look at. :grinno:

Believe me, nobody knows better then I do that Marbles are no different than farts. Everyone likes thier own the best! :headbang2

I've never been content with Marble transactions. The ones I get cost too much. I never get the nice few hundred dollar ones. :( If I didn't feel that way I wouldn't be bustin my butt trying to fix that problem of no nice cheap Marbles..... Just hard to justify when the same amounts are being spent year after year and there's little to no return. Oh well, I've had less constructive more expensive hobbies I guess.... :)

really liking the female..hyopefully your "established stunna" male takes a liking to her..i see no reason why he wont!
