Fish can go quite a while without eating but if you don't want to starve your fish I fully understand. For Aquatic plants I would say get some floating plants like water lettuce to make your arowanas feel more protected I'm not that good on aquarium plants so Idk what you could plant in the tank. I would also recommend you to keep your aquarium lids on tight possibly weighed down so your arowanas do not jump out which they are know for doing when they are spooked.

Alright, I would look more into the plants. I will add some floating plants. I wanted to decor the aquarium just a bit , perhaps a 3D background instead. Yeh I have a big lid with 2 2x4s on top, one on each side, until i can set something up for locking the lid to the aquarium or weight for the lids incase they jump. I appreciate the help

No problem hope your fish live long healthy lives.

Those arrows are going to outgrow your 220 in less then a year so I would either rehome them to plan an upgrade soon.... I had a 28 inch silver in my 600... 8x4x2.5 and I felt like he needed a bigger home.... a 220 is nothing for these monsters

My plan is to build a 370-500 gallon aquarium or how ever big it turns out out of plywood with this 220 gallon within the next year. Of course I know I have to seal the wood and all that. I saw how The King of DIY did it for his Arowana and that is the same plan I have.
