Just wanted to drop a line here in this forum as these fish are what brought me here. I saw the dinosaur bichir (sen) at petsmart bought him on a whim. (bad choice as I have a 26Gal tank) and have to return him. But after reading the forums here I must say, going to have to budget a 55-75Gal tank so I can get one of these big boys!!!

Well welcome aboard. When you get your larger setup and get another bichir be careful cause you think that you'll just get one bichir and then before you know it snowballs into something much greater. I bought my first bichir a few years back and I had a 55 gallon tank and that ended up growing to a 130 gallon tank. Then 1 bichir turned into 3, 4, 8, 13, and now 19 bichirs with no sign of stopping. Enjoy the ride =)

Well I think one as a showpiece would be neat with like 3-5 Clown loaches? Maybe I"m just crazy. Also would Gourami's work if they get to the 5" range?

55 gallon? go with 4 sens in that 55 gallon

The Gourami's? Fast swimmers they are. But I'll take your word. But clown loaches I read in one of the sticks should be able to hang. Get up to about 7-12 inches..... Also 2 Sens would be neat and maybe 3-4 SD's?

yea 4 sens wouldnt be no problem. remember the bichir is a stalker fish there body is like one big muscle they could catch a gourami. there good for short bursts. i'd do a tank of bichirs myself.

I hear ya Ymolina, but I'd like SOME variety so at least 2 diff. type of fish. So maybe 2 Sens and either the loaches or Silver Dollars.....I've got time tho...probably won't happen till Christmas at the earliest!

o ok umm look at 2 delhezi's with somethin like a salvini? yea silver dollars could work.

Oooo I've never seen/heard of a Salvini before. Would the Del's be fine in a 55Gal. From what I've noticed they seem to be 75G+ guys. Then maybe I could do 1Del 1Sen and a Salv or 2? I'm greedy I tell ya!
