New monster for 55 gallon

It would be WAY happier in the 55 gallon. Some people keep FH in 55 for life. But yeah, once they get over 10 inch it will start to seemed cramped....take the fish...upgrade to 75 whenever...55 will work for a while til u want to upgrade....

Man, this dude is absolutely gorgeous, does have a slight blush around fins, very beatiful classic fh form, so regal in the water--he OWNS his space, and I can't wait to get him here and out of that small tank. (Hey, I'll try to get a pic to post) duuuude I watch him and he really connects, and seems to understand that I'm going to give him a better space--does that sound strange? I'm in love. Gotta get the 55g cycled and weeee haaawww! I'll get ONE more tank, prob. 70g (seems these are famous last words!!)

yeah, good luck with that. I've said "ah, just ONE more tank" at least half a dozen times already.

What about a Black Belt?

Get a red devil, the most agressive fish you will be able to put in that tank, you will love it, if you like aggressive cichlid

and when mated and laying eggs they will attack any thing in the distant area
kinda sucks when u buy a new fish and put it in the tank and u dont kno they layed yet
i learned that the hard way and lost an oscar

I have an 8 to 10 in Albino Tiger Oscar alone in a 55. Running 2 whisper 60 filters and doing a weekly water change. Oscare are really attentive and grasp up anything that hits the water..
