My new motoro just arrived this morning, Had to cuss at the UPS guy for flipping the box around but all worked out thankfully. So after a very long acclimation I finally got him in the tank and after 2 hours decided what the heck Ill try to give him some food. Tried a piece of dried krill, he would swim on top of it and sit for a few seconds but never eat it. So I thought I would drop in a frozen blood worm cube in to see how that did and he was all over it! I could see him tearing it apart trying to eat it on his very first few hours in his new home!

That being said I'm not entirely sure just how much of it he ate and not sure if I want to use those frozen cubes again because they do leave quite a mess floating around in the tank. Ill have to look for some better food but thats all that walmart and petsmart had.

Either way heres some pics

Try pellets. Very good food source and nice and simple.

Ill have to run by walmart later to see if they carry any carnivore sinking pellets then. Must of overlooked them while walking through the store a few days ago

he was feeding it frozen bloodworms so thats what I pick up. The ray took it no problem it was just a bit messy so I want to try to find something that he will take to eventually substitute out the messy frozen cubes. Hes just not big enough yet to fully take it into his mouth.

No harm in marinating pellets in bloodworm. My P14 pup been on marinate for 7 weeks now. Very soon it will be on dry pellets.
Down to the individual. You can carry on feeding BW until it's 8 inch. But it might take
A While.

Thats not a bad idea, probably what I will end up doing here shortly, hopefully he will take the switch. I just cant wait to get him bigger and feeding on frozen fish chunks

So what type of sand do you all use. Ive been looking for something safe but I dont want to spend 20 dollars a bag and be out more on sand than the ray

I use 1 mm gravel. It's bit pricey, 12.5 kg for £17
But it doesn't stick to ray or scratch the belly and too heavy to get sucked into filters.
