If u go to walmart get nightcrawlers and chopped it up and that will work....If ur going to buy pellets I would look online to buy a bag or at ur lfs I doubt walmart will have hikari...
^Didnt know walmart keeps night crawlers. Are they alive or frozen or dried? just wondering so I know where to check.

So my motoro after the first day has not really been taking to much to the food like he did the first day. He still seems really active and is constantly "playing with the top of the water or around the filter. Dont know if thats a good or bad sign.
Ive read that doing this indicates that the ray might be hungry or that there might not be enough oxygen in the water, I dont think its the oxygen as there is plenty due to the multiple filters and due to the air stones. Tank also has good water circulation, moving left to right on top and right to left on the bottom.
Check your ammonia and nitrite readings too. Don't assume they're good, check them. Being at the top and not eating are also potentially signs of ammonia or nitrite.
Not sure I would grab driftwood from the lake and just throw it in the tank. I think you would want to clean it first. Hard tellin what you would introduce into the system.
Not sure if soaking it in a hot salt bath and scrubbing with a hard brush would get rid of anything bad.
Anyone around here done this? Would be cheaper than buying driftwood.
All levels check out fine, Ive been doing about 10-20% water changes daily right now just to make sure all stays well and to not give him to drastic of a change.
