I've read that's what they should be kept at. What temp would you recommend?

She died from ammonia poisoning I think from where she was being kept before I got her.

Totally agree, ammonia is probably the biggest killer of rays and most of it happens before you aquire the ray.

80 would be fine for the temperature. I think you are doing everything else correctly.

I would leave the lights off for the week and cover the tank if there is a lot of traffic past the tank.

Sorry to hear that you lost the female, I hope the male recovers soon.

The Male is fine. No issues what so ever, except for fish lice. Which I am working on getting off.

The person who was holding my rays, and had the ammo issue with gave me a ray from him motoro collection- so I am very grateful for.

I will gradually lower the temps over the weekend.

Thanks for the advice!

The 2 I have now are both very active, and attention seeking.

Sorry for your lost ! :(

Temp is too high ! Should be 79-81F... Do not get more than 84F.

I took down to 84- tomorrow will take it down to 82- then Sunday down to 80.

I have read on several sites that QT temp for rays is best at 86 that is why I was keeping them at that.

What have you all found to be the best thing to feed WC rays? I do not have access to live black worms- so I was going to buy small fishing worms (it's from an all organic farm) so I don't have to worry about chemicals.

I know that I will have to cut them up..

He did eat 2 small pieces of fresh krill, but that was it. He is very active though.

I threw some guppies in the tank for now to see if that will stimulate him eating.. I know they can go a few days without eating, so I know I shouldn't worry, but because he's new I want to make sure I can at least get him to eat something.

earth worms are great, then try to get them onto pellets, shrimp, tilapia, or DIY gel food

The one draw back to the worms is they can be a bit messy

What is the best medication to use for anchor worms (argulus) on rays?

See the sticky for safe meds. Something with Dimilin works well for argulus (fish Lice). But you should treat for a a week or so then let them rest for a week then retreat as they are tough to kill off and you must get them as they go through their life cycle. But really you need to get the one ray eating before the stress of treating with meds.
