this is probably a stupid question, because I know the answer, but i just want to get your take on your inhabitants now. I believe you started the tank with the idea of being a reef or sw at least, then went to fw, then to natives due to the cost of heating the tank. am I right? (i assume natives means you dont have to heat it at all, since they're used to whatever the temp is. probably warmer in your basement anyway)
So my question is, are you happy with your inhabitants? I know you are, but I mean, really happy? do you wish you had gone w/ SW, or at least want to start a SW tank?
The reason I'm asking is because I am planning my own FW tank, but doing the research, I started getting the SW Reef bug, which is a more expensive bug to come down with.
I dont have ANY plans on inhabitants yet. I live in Las Vegas which is night and hot 80% of the year. Lake Mead has some bass, catfish, sunfish, etc etc. Not really something I had ever considered as keeper fish. Would you recommend to go native, or FW at all?
How much does it cost to run the tank? seems like you just gotta pay for lighting and pumping now. And maybe a dehumidifier or 2
ty so much for the great threads, the informative follow ups, and being so damn awesome!
