I hope this is not inappropriate to post here but we do talk about foods a lot. I'm not advertising for them, but I do like their foods. They always reply to my questions about their foods. I inquired about a new line of foods they were coming out with and if the pellet size would be increased. Here is what they said.

Dear David,
Thank you for your inquiry.

Yes, we are beginning a new line of foods simply called "Super Foods".
This line will consist of:

1. Super Color Pellets
2. Super Kelp Pellets
3. Super Cichlid Pellets

All of these products will be small pellets, contain color enhancers,
and will be sinking pellets.

As of now, we are not preparing to increase the pellet size of these
foods as well as our floating pellets, however, depending on the response to
this new food line, we may also create a medium and large pellet.

We hope that answered your questions. Please feel free to contact us
with any other questions or concerns. Also, feel free to check out our
website within the upcoming weeks for new products.

Best Regards,
OmegaSea Customer Care

I like a larger pellet personally and many of my larger fish now tend to ignore small pellets. What do you think? Is pellet size something we could puch for?
Am I off-base about pellet size?

How small are the small pellets? If they're between 1-3mm and these foods contain Whole ingredients (like their other pellets) instead of meals like most competitors, I'll definitely be looking at expanding my range of Omega One products.

Depending on pellet size you'll see your larger fish gradually adjust to the smaller size. When I first started feeding Tetra Colour Bits, which are tiny compared to the 3mm and Medium NLS/Hikari Products I feed, they went completely ignored for about a week or so until they realised it was food. Now they snap it up. I now generally prefer the smaller size as it's much easier to get the whole tank fed without greedy bastards clearing up 5 large pellets at a time (Yes, I'm looking at you Mr. Chocolate) and leaving a smaller share for the rest, without needing to overfeed bioload wise.

I too saw that they were introducing a new food line. I'm happy they sink, but I wish that they would make them in the large size.

The small pellets are like 2 mm I think. I have the small size goldfish food and it's too small for my 3 inch goldfish to care about, I can't imagine my cichlids would even notice a pellet that small. The large sinking size would be perfect for my ray.

Maybe if enough people write to them about making the larger size pellets available they will listen. I already e-mailed.

That's what I'm talking about!

I also would like to see larger sizes. I purchased 2lbs of the super color pellets and didn't realize they were so small, I wouldn't have bought them if i knew.

Please tell them that!

I feed mostly small pellets so smaller and less aggressive fish can compete. The big pellets are nice for some of the more predatory guys that each just one mouthful at a time though.

I use the Super Color Pellets my fish love them increased pellet size would be ok but only if they still sink as good as the small ones .
And as Japes pointed out smaller pellets does make it harder for your one glutton of a (see avatar)fish to hog all the food and let the smaller guys get some
