 if you want perfection you have to be pedantic..

Looking good mate the tems are starting to come along very nicely.

I can see a difference in that new guys head shape...the slope on the forehead seems to be longer?

Thats what I'm thinking Steve his head almost looks to big for his body.
This is what happens when you go to pick up a fish and have to view it through a bucket :duh:

Yeah I usually find this can be the case when a fish has been stunted.

This may well be the case as you said it seemed underfed.

Can't beleive you had to view it through a bucket...seems a bit strange.

I just hope he turns out OK now that he is in the 450 Gal.
What are your thoughts ?
The couple were very paranoid not to let people into their apartment and bought the fish down to me in a 20Ltr bucket

Should be fine...all you can really do is pump him up and see how he turns out.

I suppose for me the big question would be how old it really is?

I wouldn't stress too much mate...just grow him out a bit more...we all know how you treat your cichla...he should be filled out in no time

Peter try giving him silversides. I find they snatch those up pretty quick when introducing a new cichla the tank. Suprising to hear that the 7-8" guys can hang w/ the 15''.
