I bought a Pacman frog a weeks ago but returned it a few days later after I discover how big it's poop were . Yours look to be one of the Fantasy horned Frog, they're a mixed between the C. cranwelli and C. cornuta aka the pacman frogs (there's a few variety of horned frogs being sold as pacman frogs) and are usually steril.

hmm... i've read there there are a few species too, and that their care is similar.

but how do i tell them apart?

Not really sure on how to ID them as all Horn frogs look so much alike(too me anyways), my one guess would maybe by colors.


I'm thinking about getting a African Bullfrog aka true Pixie

the fantasy frog tends to have black in its colour and slightly biger horns. i too am looking for a pixie they are more active than the american and biger

I can't seem to spot any black colouration on mine. So I guess its ok to say that mine is no fantasy?

I'd love to have a pixie too! They grow so big that it's amazing. But I can't find them at my area.

yes i think it is safe to say that yours is a true argentine ornata (pacman)although not as green as i have seen them.

yea Pixies are different from other frogs cause of that, usually it's the females that are bigger than males
