New Petsmart Midas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a 6" Midas/RD from Petsmart too. I find it very interesting that someone else said their's was a nice tempered fish. Mine doesn't bother anyone at all and it's the biggest fish I have in the tank. It is obsessed with moving gravel though. :D I absolutely love this fish and I'm glad I can keep it with other cichlids without the aggression issue normally associated with this fish.

i think you chose the right one to keep

keep an eye on them two...especially with the fish you got now...i had two and they liked to team up on my other fish...ended up getting a second tank for them

Been a while Since I have updated. The two started to not like each other and were constantly fighting so I kept the better looking on in my opinion. Hes about 5" now, growing a little slower than I expected.

Was it me who said that? My midavil has the same kind of temperment you described. She loves digging the gravel and only really gets mad when other fish either go in her spot or annoy her somehow. My gold saum has even charged her a few times and each episode it wasn't until after a few rushed that she got over her disbelief that any fish was challenging her. She just chased my gt off.

Mine is only 5" in a 90 gallon with lots of smaller fish. He hasnt dug either. He gets in fights with my 5" Male Honduran Red Point but no one else. It is also a little shy when feeding, as most i have seen come right up to the surface begging for food. I know I wont be able to keep all these fish in my tank once he starts growing bigger. Kinda weird how some act differently than others.
