what are ur plans for the clarias and larger sh's in the long run? if u ever have any thing aggressive and large to rehome its always worth giving me a shout im always looking for to fill a tank.... and im only in southampton....

The clarias won't be a problem, nor most of the SHs. The i'm planning to dedicate a 8x30 to the pleuros. The marulia I haven't decided yet, I may rehome or may setup a nice big vat for him, I bought him as identified thinking he was maruliodes %), he is only about 16" at the moment in a 5x18 and doesn't seem to be growing much right now so i think I have a fair bit of time before he outgrows my setups.

The big cats (and rays, although I lost both of my current rays over easter after a water change within 3 days of each other :( ), cichla etc are getting an 8x4 when they get big enough to need it (was going to be this summer, but i think they won't need it until next summer - (I don't powerfeed)

What sort of setups are you running? Always good to find local MFKeepers! Also always useful to know others locally who have good size setups...

Jeez, that first one looks like a freakin' swamp creature. Right out of a low budget sci-fi channel movie.

Acts like one as well. Stomps around his tank on his pelvic fins, and grunts very loudly when moved (with a net/stick - he's venomous). And when he opens that vast mouth... Clever as well, will carefully remove dried food from inside a lancefish before eating just the lancefish

Hmm afro aro....I'd love to see that one day. Been after one for ages, but not going to pay 500+ for one though! Almost bought a gulper in pier a couple of weeks back though...

Don't suppose the 8x2.5x3.5s are for sale are they if they aren't in use?

sorry dude they will be put to very good use, ur are welcome to come see the afro at some point and i am about to start enquiring after another i may be able to source some 12"+ if u are interested most id contemplate spending is £350...

Gulpers are totally awesome characters, get one, u really wont regret it but dont let it near anything it will at least try and eat it... my 9"er thinks a 18" rtg can be eaten tail first and attempts every now and then... its ridiculous! but funny as...

Fair enough, I don't think i'd even be able to spend that much, not yet anyway - maybe next year. At £150 i would have one though.

Yeh, i've lusted after them for a while since someone on AP got a load and put vids up. They were down to £100 each when I saw them, hence being rather tempted! Ended up getting the auranti instead. Bet i wouldn't have had problems getting the gulper feeding though...

i got a pair of 13" auranti from aquajardin a while back for £75... but let em go after i got my pleuro. The gulper was stupid cheap at wow in crawley as they couldn't sell it!
