ok good to know thanks catfish god

no worries mate, I have had one, evil things though, mine tried to eat my bichir bit by bit so I gave him away..

man these things get such a bad rap... mine is pushing 10 inches and wouldnt harm a fly... i hand feed him shrimp at the surface. ive had a school of silver dollars growing in that tank for a while the biggest one is 3 inches and hes never even looked at them. super active fun to watch, my favorite fish i own hands down. now i live in canada, and ive heard lately that they will be illegale here soon too if they arent already.... meh....

my lfs has tonnes all the time...

Man this is the thrid one I have seen one Ohio in about as many days. I was in a LFS that had 2 of them this past weekend. but this guy didn't know what it was either. but he wanted $150 for the big one he had.

I think I might do some e-mailing and find out what's the deal on why they are illegal. I mean we hear they are but no real reason why.

yea i dont really get it they cant survive our winters up here and they act just like a channel cat mine hasnt even touched a feeder in my tank well that might be because my cichla doesnt give it a chance lol

Really walking catfish are illegal i never knew there awesome catfish i wan'ted one so bad but it looks like there turning into another snakehead case

Just so we're clear. Clarias catfish are illegal in the States.

That's rough, it's like the ultimate MFK fish. Power, speed, teeth, HUGE appetite, power to escape from his tank...COVER THAT TANK! They can survive and travel out of water for a long time. You might wake up one morning to find him gone, then say whats wiggling around in my pants...

He is gorgeous! They aren't illegal in the Uk, i know many people who have them! they get massive!!! i have seen a black, orange and white one, an absolute beauty!
