Yeah, I am trying to find a better camera because all i am using is my iphone 4 and i have no more space lol.

certain species of asian soft shells are endangered, yes.

theres plenty of floridas however.

Is it normal that my ss turtle is always in the same spot in the sand for like 2 hours? :/

Definately normal, my Chinese always used to hide as a baby. They get more confident as they grow, but at stressful times (like cleaning time), mine dives back into the sand for a prolonged period.
Your softie is a lot darker than mine, and has the belly spots, be interesting to see how the patterning changes as it grows
