Damn, 15 bucks each! I know that's a good price for monos. But that's not a lot of money.

Yeah, I know. but i spend a lot of money on live food as it is already. what i meant was fishkeeping in general is expensive. to me, any 2" freshwater fish that is over 10 to 15 bucks is expensive.

haha thanks.yea they can be tough to grow out.
this is the second time ive had all my youngens get out of the fragile stage alive.

at what stage are they considered not as fragile and at what size did you tend to lose your young cichla?

i'd say 6-8 inches is when they get out of the "fragile" stage.
i had the most losses when they were less than 2 inches.

I see. Can they handle weekly 50 to 60% water changes at 2 inches?
