lovely peaceful species. i thoroughly reccomend them in a medium sized community. heres a photo of mine. hes 10'' and planning to get more later on next year when i get another tank.

despite having long threads at the dorsal, its a proven female.
my mate had 3 and both spawned with the male. but he gave this to me because the pair kept on bullying her.

Thank you, they are Geophagus Abalios.

I agree its a female. Both sexes develope filaments on the dorsal but the males are longer with a more vibrant red coloration. At the size yours is, males would have a more pronounced forehead as well.
