it looked like he chewed on some worms a little while a go, then left them alone, not sure if he is eating the ghost shrimp yet. He seems to be breathing better now and is atleat moving around. I will go to walmart and get some trout worms. I have always had better luck with nightcrawlers cut in 1/4" pieces.

Don, are you feeding whole trout worms?

Yes, that is what I started with. They are much skinnier, he wouldn't touch cut up crawlers till about the 5th-6th day or so. He was eating like 15-18 a day. I figure it was time to get him on crawlers. So I didn't feed him from one night till the next and walah, he started taking cut up crawlers. Troutworms can live a long time in the water whole and alive. Michael said he found one living in his filter 3 months after he used them. I covered with a blanket and turned off lights, threw in live foods and just checked on him once in a while. I would think just stressed.

Do more frequent water changes {flowers are more sensitive old water}, bring the temp up to 80-82 .Add in some salt not alot and add some air stones in there. The more oxygen the better for flowers.Keep him on the trout worms for a while.

I think I will be doing 10-20% a day for a while. Ghost shrimp in there don't look like he to interested. Should have trout worms shortly.

I didnt read all the posts but sounds like he is not adapting the best. have you tried blackworms. They are always the food to go to for a picky ray especially flower. the shipping could have put a little shock on him that he still needs to snap out of. I would, personally, raise the temp to at least 82-84 gradually with extra oxygen stones and hold there for a bit with small water changes each day. Again IMO salt is not necessary right now unless there are would, abrasions or the possibility you think there is some internal damage. Glad you got one man and best of luck. Looks to have some meat on his tail so dont worry too much yet but the ghost shrimp and blackworms will def be the way to go for now. GL bro

I just got in 6 flowers and they are all eating either ghost shrimp or blackworms except one. He is stubborn and doesn't want to try anything. A couple even ate cut up crawlers. As long as he doesn't looked stressed I wouldn't get to worried just yet.

I dont think theres alot to worry about neither.Just keep the water changes up.If he was eating that much after he got there , he adapted fine.
