it's not an african knife, which lacks the dorsal fin.

your fish has a dorsal fin, so it's probably an asian species.

Could be a Lopis, but the pics are dark. Can you get better pics of the knife with no spots.

Based on the head shape and the size of the mouth, I think it most definitely is a notopterus notopterus

its not a lopis... a lopis has the same pointy shape as a CK and this guy has a rounded nose... im almost 100% sure its a featherfin notopterus notopterus...

anyway I was just chillin and i looked over and noticed the ck snatched a baby guppy right as i was looking (Im on vacation at my parents so i put them in my moms community tank until I move them to my own place) and i decided to watch for a while... he was just chasing fish around... which was cool to see cuz my last ck was a lil pussy...

neway i turned off the tank light to see how they wud b in the dark... i waited about 5 mins and then the bumblebee cats came out and started playing... they just chase eachother around the tank constantly! like they are playing tag... really cool fish to watch! I think im gonna go pick up another 2 tomorow...

It's like I said before it definatly isn't a african knife. notopterus notopterus do not have a dorsal fin.

That little KNife is a Asian Black Knife (Notopterus Notopterus)
They get to be about 12" and are a pretty hard find in my area
They don't get too big, but I do hear that they are the most aggressive of all the Asian Knife Fish
