Close, but not quite. B. suchus are slightly smaller, around the 24 to 28" range. Perfect size!

Congrats dude!! Thats one bad arse fish right there! LOVE IT!

What temp you got it in? Wes was saying they were in 78degree water there. Just curious. . .

Nice pick up!!! Wish i had that type of money to spend on fish

Yeah me too

I have always liked the Yarelli but the size has always been to big for me. Never heard of the Suchus before and when I did a little Detective Work on them... SOLD:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

There is slim to none info on these Cats so I feel like I am walking into this species blind folded. I hear they do bad with large W/C's and Prime is not to good with them... so I am going to try and get him used to my W/C schedule I do for my 300. He is in a 50gl grow out and I will start with 10% W/C's 2 times a week for 2 weeks... I plan to end at 50% W/C weekly and have him/her eating the 300's diet before he goes into the 300.

Also, I am going to PraziPro him starting next week (what I do with ANY fish that lands in my house)

300's W/C is 50% weekly, constant 82*, diet is Market Shrimp/Scallops/Silver Sides and I use 8 caps of Prime to dose 400glns worth of water (360gls is about the total with Sump) FYI

Thanks or all the comments :D

I've wanted suchus for SUCH a long time! Great that they are finally available AND doing great.

Very good to know about the water changes and the prime. Are they sensitive to any other water conditioners or just prime?

82* huh? Thats crazy!!! Eating anything else yet? How do you keep the minnows/rosies alive? I always try to keep some in some of my tanks but they always die from the temp change, VERY frustrating.

Keep me updated on your progress, perhaps we can share notes as time goes by. I'm about to put my blind fold on as well. . . . . .

Are these colder water Cats? I noticed 82* seems high to you.
As for the Minnows, I dont know. I probly do the same that you do... acclimate like anyother fish (Drip method w/air stone) toss them in and thats a wrap. 50% W/C's weekly, thats it. I did loose a lot from the batch I put in but these seem to be doing great Lol. I think they have lasted so long due to their quickness

I was PM-ing Wes before I picked him up and when I get a chance, Ill post his comments for all as we need as much info on these guys (plus I just got to work). I wanted to get more of them but decided to try 1pc out before I grab more

Post some pics when you get yours:D
