These have been in captivity for a few weeks already, doing great. Suchus are different than yarelli, these like warmer water, not high flow, and don't do too much water change, they're sensitive to chemicals like "prime" water conditioner if you use too much it will shock them, other than that, the last one I had from a year ago is doing great, over 13" already! These are chomping down on small cut shrimp pieces as well. Hope that answers everything., oh ph, they're in 7.5 80 degree water with some snooks, and albino clown knifes.
They are not aggressive, would never molest any fish. as for the large volume water changes...if you pretreat it would be ok. I usually drain as I fill and pour that stuff in there, and sometimes accidently pour too much, as I'm more use to amquel. I understand that prime is like 3 times more concentrated. I've personally not lost one suchus

Wes

Video of this fish please. Does it have personality or is it just a unique odd fish to keep?

Are these colder water Cats? I noticed 82* seems high to you.

Yeah, most Bagarius species are cold water, with 76* really pushing it. So I was surprised when Wes said he had them in 80* water, and you had them in 82* water. Plus most Bagarius species LOVE high current, and need high levels of dissolved oxygen in the water to survive. What Wes said was more than Encouraging though!!! :headbang2

Any more pictures for us? They look to be a healthy size too hey?

I'm pretty sure Wes doesn't have any more btw. . .

Oh man, then u better give me back the Blind Fold as I didn't even know they need water that cold. I do have the water very well aerated.
Looks like he is taking down all the minnows in now 83* water.

I'll try to take some pics when he moves out of the same spot Lol
he is like a pc of Log Lol. Of he didn't look as cool as he does I think he would be F/S already Lol. But he is a very unique Looking cat. I plan ti mix him with my Tigrinus... If he is as close to grower as Tigs are

Yeah, most Bagarius species do like the colder waters. I guess suchus are different, which is a relief since most of my tanks are close to or well into the 80*s.

Thats great that he is eating so well. Any other predators in there with it? Are they aggressive feeders or wait for the food to come to them? Tried feeding anything but the minnows yet?

There is more preds... Ghost Shrimp Lol
Thats why the minnows lasted so long:ROFL:

I keep tossing in Market Shrimp, little pcs. Wes said they were eating small pcs of shrimp so im guessing he has to get used to the tank or finish the last minnow first

Dont be envious bro:grinno:. Im sure Wes has some... I think he still has his personal 13" Suchus for sale if the 5 he just got are gone?

Im super tired, ill try to post some pics tomorrow night:D
