New pickup today

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Agree with Hendre. That looks like a nice little set up.
I like the addition of the leaf litter, personally I would add a lot more.
Are they still being shy? Adding a small shoal of marbled hatchet fish should make them a little bolder.
Nice fish and tank though, really like it.

I have more leaves that I will be adding but I’m just drying them out a little more.

They are not as shy, the females know I’m the food bringer, the male is still quite shy.

I cannot add anymore fish to this tank, as it’s much too small for more fish. This one is a temporary tank as well :-)

Omg so fantastic update on this tank, they have been doing so well and I have not been paying attention to them that they have laid eggs, guarded them, hatched and now I have free swimmers....I seen them today, there’s a whole swack of them in there....not sure if you can see them in the picture

Only question I have is, should I leave them or move them in with my hrp fry? The hrp fry are about 3-4 weeks old, quite large in comparison

I'd try and keep them in there with the parents or in their own tank.

Congratulations by the way :)

Sorry I forgot to answer your question, mine were almost fully grown when I got them but I read they are slow growers!

Updated pictures, my male is getting more and more beautiful!

The male ate the entire last batch of babies. But at least I know they can and will breed for me, with a little flc I’m sure I could get it to happen again.
