Yah, that does seem to be common with small dats. I was fortunate to have first pick at the store. I grabbed the 3 healthiest (and largest) out of the tank.
Plus, while I was drip acclimating, I dropped a cube of frozen bloodworms in, and all three were attacking it right away. They are very aggressive eaters, which is good, because they have to compete with 3 baby johanna pike cichlids and a baby gt for food. They get well fed though (2-3 times a day).
. The other one stayed stable though.
